Diwali
The festival of lights is known as Deepavali (deep - lamp, avali –
array or row). Indians light outside their homes to symbolize the inner light
that protects from spiritual darkness. Diwali is a great grand celebration by
Indians which is celebrated in a part of India and most of the parts of the
world also. This festival is as important to Hindus as the other religion. Well
its 5 days’ celebration which starts on the 13th day lunar day of Hindu
calendar, the festival generally falls between mid-October and mid-November.
In northern India this is the celebration of the lord Ram the
return of lord Rama to his kingdom after 14 years of exile, the means the state
of being forbidden so basically we are celebrating the return of lord ram to
his kingdom.
In Southern India celebrates it as the day that lord Krishna
defeated the demon narakasur.
In western India the festival marks the day that lord Vishnu, the
preserver (one of the Hindu gods) sent the demon king Bali to rule the nether
world.
In all interpretations, one common thing is the festival marks the
victory of good over evil.
Now here we go to look at the activities which begins from day
one. And the day one is called as Dhanteras before starting the festival people do clean the houses, and also over everyone
love going out shopping for new dress, sweet, and lots of lots of gifts that
have to be exchanged. Now let's see what we do on Dhanteras, is the first day
of Diwali celebrations. And it's basically celebrating the wealth and
prosperity, so basically people pray for wealth and prosperity where in people
also they make this beautiful traditional pattern which are called as Rangoli,
it's a traditional art is the traditional model basically made by color rice,
dry flour, colored sand or flower petals and it was amazing the beautiful
it's basically decorated in front of your house. Around that people decorated
their home with beautiful Diya, Diya is basically a clean lamp we put some oil
and these clay lamps are lid, so this is what people do on first day.
Second day is basically bathing rituals where people wake up early
in the morning, and they clean their body and clean their negativity. Then they
wear new clothes and then, exchange sweets and exchange of Diwali gift on that
day.
Then the day four which is the new year’s eve basically is
considered as the most auspicious day to start a new venture,
people
also consider this as day as a new financial year so people do go to offices in
this is celebration. people also like specially children they go burst crackers firecrackers. Be careful children because it might cause it dangerous
to you and as well as the bystander. and especially chemical components used to
make this fire crackers up pretty dangerous and yes of course with the air
pollution around so maybe avoiding firecrackers would be a great idea this
year. So that how we celebrate the new year’s eve which is the fourth
day of Deepavali celebrations.
And then the fifth and the final day of Deepavali is family
rituals, some Hindu communities mark the last day as bhai dooj, which is
dedicated to the bond between sister and brother. here sisters invite the
brothers to their homes so they exchange gifts,
this is the last day how we celebrating the love and the bond. so here also the
family gets together and have a great time with each other, this is what
exactly we do for this festival of Deepavali. do let me know how do you
celebrate deepavali i'll be glad to read your comment.
