Durga is an ancient god of Hinduism, Durga Puja, also called Durgotsava, is an annual Hindu festival in the Indian subcontinent that reveres the goddess Durga. Devi durga is wife of hindu god siva in every year  when she comes with her sons Ganesh and Kartik and daughters Lakshmi and Saraswati.  durga puja It is particularly popular in West Bengal, Odisha, Bihar, Jharkhand, Assam, Tripura, Bangladesh and also in Nepal where it is called Dashain. The dates of the festival are determined according to the lunar calendar month of Ashvin, typically September or October. and is a multi-day festival. Durga Puja is celebrated during the last five days of Navaratri and Dussehra.

In the eastern and northeastern states of India, Durga Puja, also called NAVARATRI, Durga Puja or Navaratri festival marks the battle of goddess Durga with  powerful buffalo demon Mahishasura, In this story of devi durga devi spend nine days in battle with powerful buffalo demon Mahishasura. Devi durga defeated the demon on tenth day or Dussehra, Dussehra celebrated at the end of durga puja and navaratri every year.
In the northern and western states, the festival Dussehra is also called "Rama Lila"  that celebrates the battle and victory of god Rama over the demon king Ravana. In all cases, the common theme is the battle and victory of Good over Evil based on a regionally famous epic or legend such as the Ramayana or the Devi Mahamya.
